Once again it is time for our own lockin at Courtland Avenue Friends Church. If you have been to one before it is a blast! After eating, the first few hours are filled with lying on mats and meditating..., Oh just kidding. We will be having many favorites this year like Dodgeball, Sardines, and we might even play Christians vs. Satan..., maybe.... This lock-in will have a little bit of a different twist. On Sunday morning we will be heading out to New London Friends Church to experience a student led worship service from the WYM Youth Cabinet (they will also hang out with us part of Saturday evening... I'm sure they have some mad skills so watch out!).
I know now you're thinking I have to get up early to go to church! What's up with that!? Well, we won't be leaving until 10am to get there and we will have breakfast available in the morning and we'll have lunch after the youth service as well. We will get you home about 1pm Sunday afternoon. I think it will be a very cool, very different kind of church experience!
Be there at 7pm! and game on!

Courtney finally and gladly headed to bed. One more game of Satan vs. Christians had come to an anticlimactic end with no one finding the trinity of cones to defeat Satan’s power. A couple of other girls followed her but the rest of the students were determined to stay up whether or not they had the capacity to attend to anything any more or not. Such is the success of another lockin riding on the razors edge of falling into complete chaos. 24 students, 4 adults, and 2 children braved another all-nighter together beginning with cooking their own pizzas and through a night filled with games, music, and movies. Just as people were beginning to nod off during the 4th movie of the night PJ and Allison joyfully awakened them to a breakfast of cereal and biscuits and sausage gravy. Joe did his best impression of a boulder to knock Courtney off her air mattress to get her moving. It was time to get ready to head over to New London for the WYM Road Show. It was exciting to jam pack the place with worshipers from every age range. Even with the inspiring efforts of Youth Cabinet to express the gospel it wasn’t until Joel Pedigo picked up the microphone, laid down a beat, and the rest of youth cabinet rapped “Jesus Loves the Little Children” that they bleary eyed crew from RISE sprang to attention and responded in thunderous applause. The lockin ended as it had begun with food this time provided by the folks at New London. Praise God everyone survived however because demand is so high for another lockin next week he is looking for other volunteers to run that one!

The lock in was really fun.... I didn't head to bed untill 2:00am.. Now that is late... Most people didn't even go to bed.. See I need sleep, because the next day we headed out to New London for church sevice...
That night night 6 or so high-schoolers stoped bye the church. Well those six or so students were the Western Yearly Meeting Youth Cabinet.... They stuck around for awhile, ate the 10 pizza's that were left over, and played some games with us..
The next moring still in our Pj's we headed out to New London Friends to have church service... The youth cabinet had planed a lesson for us.. It was really cool.. We sang, talked, watched vidoes, and pryed over loved ones.. But then after wards we had some awsome food..
Lock-ins have to be my favorite!!! :D
